The City of Orillia is creating a five-year Economic Development Strategic Plan. (Economic Development Manager Ryan Lay

Jennifer Podmore Russell was appointed as the executive vice president of real estate and development for Nch’ḵay̓ Development Corporation, the economic development wing of the Squamish Nation.

The municipality of Chatham-Kent in Ontario has decided to hire an economic development officer for Wheatley. This role, funded by the province, was created for a two-year contract to help Wheatley's recovery after a gas explosion in August 2021 disturbed its residents and businesses.

A group of young people in Bilijk, spent four Saturdays being introduced to various skilled trades, such as plumbing, electrical, and cooking. The camps were run by Gabe Isaac, Indigenous projects and apprenticeship coordinator with the Joint Economic Development Initiative.
