Alabama

Commerce Secretary Greg Canfield encouraged Alabama economic development specialists to grow the state's aerospace sector by advancing relationships and attracting investment at the Paris Air Show.

HudsonAlpha Institute of Biotechnology appointed Ann Marie Carr as Economic Development Associate for Wiregrass, where she is responsible for coordinating economic development efforts in the region. VP of Economic Development Carter Wells and Director of HudsonAlpha Wiregrass Dean Mitchell praised Carr's experience, network, and knowledge in the economic development community

The Alabama Legislature approved SB 175, creating the ReEngage Alabama Grant Program and the Alabama Short-Term Credential Scholarship Program to strengthen educational and workforce opportunities. The programs aim to increase the number of state residents with college degrees, address workforce needs, and provide financial assistance.

Gadsden city officials introduced a new logo and seal reflecting the city's modern vision. John Moore, Director of Economic and Governmental Affairs, stated that the updated logo symbolizes Gadsden's industrial strength and growth potential.

Alaska

Bill Popp, president and CEO of Anchorage Economic Development Corporation, and Bruce Bustamante, president and CEO of the Anchorage Chamber of Commerce, resigned from their positions.
