California

Dave Zellers is the new director of Community and Economic Development for the City of Fairfield. Prior to this, he was the director of Commerce for Montgomery County, Pennsylvania.

Colorado

Denver Mayor Mike Johnston appointed Adeeb Khan as the new executive director of Denver Economic Development and Opportunity . Khan previously held the position of the chief brand and impact officer at Delta Dental of Colorado.

Connecticut

Economic Development Coordinator Kristen Gorski highlighted the unprecedented level of investment in West Hartford at the Economic Development Update event.

Florida

Duke Energy has selected 11 sites in Florida for its 2023 Site Readiness Program. Between 2013 and 2023, the program evaluated 49 sites, generating $270 million in capital investment and 1,040 new jobs. Jeff Hendry, North Florida Economic Development Partnership Executive Director, praised the program for providing robust investment and for elevating their inventory of competitive sites for economic development.

Georgia

U.S. Senator Jon Ossoff recognized Barbara Rivera Holmes, President and CEO of the Albany Area Chamber of Commerce, for her commitment and dedicated service to the economic development of Southwest Georgia. She was honored with an Official U.S. Senate Commendation. Previously a reporter, Holmes later worked with Albany-Dougherty County’s Economic Development Commission before steering the Chamber.
