Alabama

The Site Evaluation Economic Development Strategy program is awarding a $733,700 grant to the city of Fayette, to purchase land for the North Fayette Industrial Site.

Shellie Phelps Whitfield, Executive Director of the Wetumpka Area Chamber of Commerce and a former HGTV "Hometown Takeover" feature, inspired Blakely residents during a downtown visioning session by sharing Wetumpka's revitalization success. Blakely aims to replicate this success using its agricultural heritage, historic architecture, and tax incentives as foundations for economic development.

Arizona

Revel Surf in Mesa, is spearheading economic growth through its role as the central feature of the Cannon Beach development, which includes retail and dining options. Mesa’s Director of Economic Development, Jaye O’Donnell, emphasizes the park's role in revitalizing the local economy by attracting tourism and enhancing community pride.

Arkansas

A set of economic development reform bills is advancing through the Arkansas Legislature as the 95th General Assembly nears its conclusion. Significant legislation includes SB 421, a major infrastructure bill authorizing up to $500 million in bonds for diverse environmental and infrastructure projects, and SB 361, which supports industrial development authorities, particularly benefiting areas like Northwest Arkansas.

Colorado

The Colorado House has passed bipartisan legislation, HB25-1177, to modify the Economic Development Rate to attract businesses and create jobs. The bill increases eligible project size and extends rate eligibility, aiming to provide lower electric rates to large businesses and foster economic growth in Colorado.

The Colorado Office of Economic Development and International Trade and Southern Colorado Economic Development District hosted a Regional Talent Summit in Pueblo to develop workforce strategies for advanced manufacturing, construction, and technology industries. This initiative supports regional economic goals and broadband expansion, bolstering job opportunities across 13 counties.

Florida

The Charlotte County Economic Development Office has launched a "Featured Veteran" series to spotlight local veterans who contribute significantly to the workforce and community. (Maria Vastola, Marketing Manager)

Steven Anthony has been appointed as the new economic development director for the City of Miami Beach. With his background as vice president of business development at the Economic Development Corporation of Kansas City, Anthony brings extensive expertise in economic development, banking, and finance.
