Alabama

Alabama economic development generated a record $10.1 billion in new capital investment in 2022, creating 13,078 jobs. Key sectors included automotive, metals, aerospace, and aviation. Major projects involved companies like Airbus, Hyundai, Toyota, Novelis, First Solar Inc., and Advanced ACT.

California

The Sonoma County Economic Development Board has been awarded $300,000 from the Federal Communications Commission to expand local enrollment in the FCC’s Affordable Connectivity Program, which provides free and discounted internet service to low-income households.

Elaine Gerety Warner was appointed as the new Economic Development Director of Culver City; she will lead the efforts in creating and managing economic vitality and business development projects, promoting reinvestment and revitalization initiatives. Her appointment comes as part of the Community Development Department's reorganization.
