The City of Oakland has appointed Ashleigh Kanat as the new Director of the Economic and Workforce Development Department.
Paul Nguyen, the Chief Economic Development Officer, and his small but powerful Economics Development Team in Hayward, California were acknowledged by the California Association for Local Economic Development for their work. They won two Awards of Merit for two programs: the Together for Hayward: Gift Card and Shop Local Campaigns, and the Hayward Tuition Assistance – Learn and Earn Program. Team members include Catherine Ralston, Daniel Mao, Dr. Amber Green, and Javier Castro.
Alexandra Calloway-Nation has received an Economic Development Fellowship. Calloway-Nation has previously worked on economic development projects for the Blackfeet Reservation and expresses excitement about her upcoming work to boost ecotourism and economic self-sufficiency at the Wind River Reservation.

Philip Clement has been appointed as the new CEO and president of World Business Chicago, an organization focused on economic development and business recruitment. His role will be to support and enhance economic growth and development in Chicago, in part by addressing business departures.
Monica Conners, an experienced economic development director from Delaware County, Ohio, is set to become the new president of the Naperville Development Partnership. She takes over from long-serving head Christine Jeffries, who is retiring after 26 years.
