 Alabama

Dale Greer, the director of the Cullman Economic Development Agency, received the 2023 Emma Marie Eddleman Citizenship Award. The award is given annually to individuals who contribute immensely to their communities. Greer played a vital role in the important Duck River project, helped make Cullman rank fourth in industrial projects nationally, and served as the Alabama Economic Development Association's president. Alaska

The Alaska Department of Commerce, Community, and Economic Development partnered with the University of Alaska CEED and the Alaska Development Team in the Office of the Governor to release a five-year economic plan. The Alaska Statewide Comprehensive Economic Development Strategy aims to diversify the economy while maintaining existing engines, support new growth sectors, create an entrepreneurial ecosystem, foster educational opportunities, and build economic resilience.

Arkansas

Gregory Dale has been promoted to Branch Chief at USDA Rural Development.

Owens Corning will build a 150k sq ft insulation factory in Russellville's industrial park. This project began after executives met with the Russellville Area Chamber of Commerce and the Russellville Regional Economic Development Alliance. Russellville's designation as an Arkansas Economic Development Commission Competitive Community was the advantage that helped it win Owens Corning's favor.
