Podcast Episode 55 - Economic Development in Suburban Chicago with Kevin Leighty

Episode # 55 of the Econ Dev Show Podcast is now live.

Today's issue is brought to you by LocalIntel.

In this episode, Dane talks with Kevin Leighty, Economic Development Director in the Village of Oswego, Illinois.

Prior to Oswego, Kevin did economic development for nearly a decade in two other municipalities. Kevin holds a BA, MPA, and in the process of obtaining his CEcD.

Dane and Kevin discuss the stark contrast in the approach to economic development between Kevin's current and former communities. Schaumburg was all re-use and redevelopment whereas Oswego is a "blank canvas" of new development opportunities. Both great communities with a lot to offer, but the "sales pitch" is very different.
