Some Quick Thoughts from the 2023 IEDC Annual Conference

Last week, I attended the International Economic Development Council's Annual Conference in Dallas, Texas.

Contrary to my usual approach to these kinds of conferences —meticulously planning which sessions to attend and racing from a chair in one room to chair in another — I spent my time engrossed in spontaneous conversations that consumed my entire stay.

The truth is, I didn't attend a single formal session, but I made up for what I lacked in scheduled events in enriching off-the-cuff discussions.

The conference kept me so active that my step count soared. Usually, you'd expect to spend most of your time seated in sessions or seminars and eating. Conferences can be so draining. Mine was more of a workout!

(Also, when I did eat, I never ate alone. )
